Hi, I'm Sarah
Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web! A few things about me: I'm a natural light photographer from California, now living life in Philadelphia PA, with my husband and our 2 cats. I started my professional career as an Elementary school teacher, after which I moved into investment finance. Though I loved both jobs they didn't nourish me artistically, so I set out to make a real go of my lifelong passion: photography.
I think what I love most about my work as a photographer is getting to be involved in some of the most precious moments of a client's life. Weddings, proms, baptisms, pregnancies; each event has its own beauty and it is a blessing to get to capture those moments for families to enjoy forever. Sharing in their joy makes my soul come alive like nothing else.
On the left is a picture of me on my wedding day in 2019, taken by the wonderful Val Westover. My husband and I are high school sweethearts, and transplants to the east coast for college. We had the tremendous joy of getting to go back to where it all began for our wedding, our little hometown in Southern California. Now we're happily settled in a cozy apartment with our two precious kitties, Frankie and Ruby.
Four Favorites
Favorite TV show?
This is tough, but I seem to always go back to Friends! Its just so easy to laugh at and have on in the background while I'm editing. Joey and Chandler are the most iconic duo!
Fav movies?
So many! I have to give the top spot to my all time favorite, Pride and Prejudice (2007), though the 4 part BBC version definitely gets a heavy rotation. I'm a hopeless romantic (I know shocking!) so this has to top the charts for me.
Favorite foods?
I'll own up, I'm pretty basic. I LOVE a good pizza or some pesto pasta! Yum! Desserts though it's impossible to pick. For a hot second I thought I wanted to go to pastry school, so literally anything I can bake, or Ben & Jerry's ice cream.
Other hobbies?
When I'm not behind the lens, I'm a bit of a homebody. It's honestly a lot of quiet nights reading fantasy novels. I also run a monthly D&D game, so basically any excuse to tell a good story or laugh with friends!
